Nutritional Tips

  • Never wait to eat until you are starving
  • Drink a glass of water before you eat
  • stay hydrated, sometimes you may just be hungry
  • If you eat at home, fill your plate once and put the leftovers away immediately
  • If you are in a restaurant, have them pack up half of your portion right away or order one dish with two people and share it
  • Take a bite, put knife and fork down and take the time to taste and enjoy the food
  • Try to chew slowly
  • plan your menu ahead for the week, prepare healthy snacks so you are not drawn to junk food
  • Try to have fun with eating- stick to healthy choices and make sure you have variety
  • Eat often- about every 2.5- 3 hours
  • Remember, it is simple : energy intake has to be lower than output if you want to drop weight. 
  • Don't deprive yourself of foods you love- but if you know they are not the best choice, make sure your portion sizes are very small
